Research Project Summary

I have learned a lot throughout this course by completing each assignment that I was given. The one assignment that I learned the most from was the research project on Tim Burton. Throughout my research on Tim Burton I learned how he made his movies and the steps he took to make each film. This information is important to me because I am majoring in Digital Media and Design and will need to know these things before I can be taken seriously as a director/filmmaker. I learned that you can be who you want and do the movies that you want without being criticized for it, which inspires me even more to do well in my classes. I am glad that this course was in my curriculum for many reasons, one being I learned the media history of television, film, and newspapers. If I may leave you with one question that came to my mind as I was researching Tim Burton, Is there a female director up there mentioned with Scorcese or Spielberg? I could not name one with the equivalency; however I plan on being that director one day. Who knows when it will happen in the next few years? But it will happen for I am destined to succeed and change the world through film.

Third Media Review

I went to see Billy Currington at The Great Frederick Fair on September 23rd. I haven't ever been to a concert at the Great Frederick Fair before now, just went to look around. The concert was at 7:30 and from the time Billy got on stage to the time he got off we were all thoroughly entertained. So much so that the when he was done the crown chanted "encore" and Billy" until he came back out, now we were just expecting one more song but he sang five more songs after that. He is a great entertainer and he gives you your money's worth, I would love to see him again in the future.

Second Media review

I recently had to watch The King's Speech for my co-curricular paper for history. The King's speech is about King George VI and his life before becoming king as he searches for a doctor to help him with his stammering problem. He goes to a variety of doctors until his wife finds Lionel Logue. he begins to make progress as he continues to do public speaking before he even becomes the king. Long story short he wants to stop stanmmering and he makes a friend within Mr. Logue, he later finds out Lionel is not medicallly certified but he has made more progress with him than anyone else. They practice until George's big speech addressing war on Germany with Lionel by his side he uses the techniques he was taught and sucessfull completes his speech. He keeps Lionel as his friend and speech therapist for the rest of his life. I learned that George VI is the reigning queen's father. It is a very good movie and has a little of everything in it.

First Media Review

     The first movie that I would like review is The last Station. The movie is about famed Russian author Leo Tolstoy. It is set in the last years of his life and centers around the battle for his soul, waged by his wife and leading disciple. Torn between a life of hedonism and his professed doctrine of poverty and chastity and the reality of his enormous wealth, his thirteen children, he makes a dramatic flight from his home. He becomes too ill to continue beyond the tiny rail station at Astapavo, he believes that he is dying alone, while over a hundred reporters camp outside awaiting reports on his condition.

Me, Myself and I

My name is Jade Sier, I am currently pursuing an A.A. in Digital Media & Design. I am taking Intro to Electronic Media because it is a requirement for my degree in this field. The reason I am majoring in Digital Media & Design is because I love movies and every aspect of them right down to the ending credits. I have taken a couple of  classes pertaining solely to Digital Media & Design. I recently made my first student film last semester.
 I also made an infomercial and talk show previously to semesters ago. I enjoyed and still enjoy every aspect of my major,it really is something I can see myself doing ten years from now although I hope to jump in to the field as soon as I can. As I continue towards my degree it becomes more prevalent that this is something I want to do and thoroughly enjoy every second I am doing something that revolves around it. I like movies and music. I do not like math at all.
